Mayor Boris Johnson Rescues Director Franny Armstrong

Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, had a busy night on Monday, rescuing filmmaker and climate change activist Franny Armstrong from a group of young girls armed with an iron bar. The director of “The Age of Stupid” was being attacked and pushed up against a car while she was on her way home.

Armstrong says that she was texting on her phone and didn’t even notice the girls until they pushed her against the car. She also noticed that one of them had an iron bar and was very scared. She called out for help to a cyclist passing by, who then turned out to be Johnson, and he stopped and chase the group of girls down the street while on his bike. Armstrong says that he was calling them oiks.

The film director described Johnson as her knight on a shining bicycle. He even insisted on walking her the rest of the way home when he returned from the chase. However, she admitted that she voted for Ken Livingstone, his rival, as she doesn’t agree with Johnson’s politics. She added, though, that Johnson would be of more use if someone is ever in trouble down a dark alleyway.

The story from Armstrong was confirmed by Johnson’s office, but they wouldn’t comment on his actions. He has made youth crime a big mayoral priority, and this gave him the chance to deal with it in a more hands-on approach. At least there are still some politicians out there that aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty when they see someone in trouble.
