Westlife Member Nicky Byrne’s Father Passes Suddenly
Nicky Byrne, member of the pop group Westlife, flew home to Ireland after his father suddenly passed away of a suspected heart attack on Friday. The 31-year old boy band member flew straight to Ireland to be with his mom, Yvonne, his brother, Adam, and his sister, Geraldine.
The singer, who was especially close to his father, Nicky Sr. is said the be devastated by the news and is currently in his hometown to mourn with his family and wife, Georgina along with their twin boys, Rocco and Jay.
Nicky Sr. was a singer himself who worked mostly in cabaret, but who also had his own band named Nicky and the Studz. Nicky Sr was 60 years old when he passed away. Byrne has just thrown his father a birthday party last December to commemorate his father’s 60th birthday. A lavish party was held in Dublin at a hotel in which Byrne presented his father with his very own Harley Davidson.
The death of Nicky Byrne’s father comes only months after fellow bandmate, Kian Egan’s father lost his battle with cancer passing away in July. Kian has said that the entire band were shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Byrne’s father, who had always supported the band.
The entire Byrnes family released a statement last night confirming the passing of their patriarch saying that the family had sudden lost their father, husband, and grandfather that day. They added that he was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed by everyone.
