British tourist shot dead whilst he stopped off in Amarillo
A British man has been shot dead whilst holidaying with two friends in America. The group decided to stop off in Amarillo as they travelled across the country because he had a fondness for the Tony Christie song about the town. Thomas Reeve, who didn’t even drink was killed after a man entered the Spotted Pony pub in Amarillo and started shooting. Twenty-eight-year-old Reeve was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital but later succumbed to bullet wounds to his upper body.
A statement from Mr. Reeve’s family said that he had been in the wrong place at the wrong time and would be sorely missed by family and friends. Mr. Reeves came from Maidenhead and leaves behind a nine-month-old daughter he was said to be devoted to.
A man has been charged with Mr. Reeve’s murder. Ray Carlos Cisneros is charged with allegedly attacking other customers in the bar where he shot Mr. Reeve. He is also accused of demanding that one of the female customers in the bar remove some of her clothing. A member of the Amarillo special crimes unit, Sergeant Kevin Dockery said that the murder was unusual for such a quiet part of the town. He went on to say that they didn’t know much about Mr. Cisneros but could confirm that he was not local. Having hit some of the other customers with his fist and hand gun witnesses say Mr. Cisneros went on to steal money from the people in the bar and out of the cash register. One other customer was treated for a gun shot wound to the hand.
