Joe Jackson Requests Monthly Payment from Michael Jackson’s Estate
The drama surrounding the death of Michael Jackson never seems to stop, and this is really quite sad since you’d think family wouldn’t be the ones stirring up trouble. When it’s Joe Jackson, though, there never seems to be an end. Now he’s trying to get a piece of his son’s estate, something that many know Michael wouldn’t agree to anyway.
Court records reveal that the King of Pop’s father is looking for a stipend of $15,000 per month from his estate in order to cover expenses. This isn’t just the first time it has come up either, as he has been trying to get this monthly payment for about three months now.
Parents are usually the ones to give their children an allowance, not the other way around, but it doesn’t appear that Joe cares about that. His attorney has even claimed that Michael was giving him monetary support in addition to a monthly $1,700 social security check. The paperwork actually states that Joe was dependent on the money Michael gave him through Katherine Jackson, the singer’s mother.
Many will find it very hard to believe that Michael was giving his father money to live on, as it is widely known that the pop star didn’t get along with Joe. Michael even stated that his father physically and emotionally abused him and his brothers when they were children. Plus, Joe is never even mentioned in Michael’s will.
Joe is only one of the many people trying to get a piece of the late worldwide known star. Why do people have to be so greedy and inconsiderate of family? This only goes to show how twisted and immoral the world has gotten over the years.
