Peter Andre Awarded Libel Damages

Peter Andre has been awarded a substantial amount for libel damages due to false allegations made by Now magazine about his personal life. The IPC Media publication claimed that he misled the public by presenting himself to be a loving husband and father during his marriage to Katie Price. The television personality sued the company for £300,000 for the “Jordan Explodes: ‘Tell the Truth Peter!’” article that was published in July, which talked about the end of the couple’s marriage.

The case was heard at London’s High Court by Mr. Justice Eady on Tuesday, for which Peter was present. Gordon Williams, Peter’s solicitor, told the court that the mag suggested the singer may have been the reason for two accidents that Harvey, his disabled son by Dwight Yorke, was involved in. The solicitor also said that Peter was said to have demanded sexual threesomes from Katie, which horrified her and were of no enjoyment to her, making her feel used like a sex toy. The result of this was Peter being said to have been lying by portraying himself as a loving husband and father, Williams added.

We know how much Peter was suing the media outlet for, but he wouldn’t reveal how much he was awarded. However, he did say that he was happy that the mag accepted that their story was false. Peter added that he takes his responsibilities seriously and would never do anything harmful to his children - 4-year-old Junior and 2-year-old Princess Tiaamii - whom he loves very much.
