Leona Lewis Rejects Offer to Pose Nude in Playboy
Last week while in Berlin for the MTV EMAs, Leona Lewis was offered a layout in the American magazine Playboy. The songstress reportedly declined the offer, which would have had the singer pose for the magazine founded by Hugh Hefner.
According to sources, the songstress was offered a whopping £1 million to pose in the buff for the US based men’s magazine. Ms. Lewis, who is currently battling it out on the charts for No.1 with her latest single Happy, apparently received a contract offer with the seven figure number late last week.
A source close to the singer revealed that Playboy believed Leona would be a statement for the magazine emphasizing the magazine’s ability to attract top end celebrities to its covers. According to the friend, the magazine was willing to shell out the big bucks to bag the singer for a photo spread.
Ms. Lewis, who most recently appeared at the Children in Need benefit concert to perform Thursday evening, was launched to stardom in 2007 when she won the popular Brit reality show X Factor. Friends of the singer have spoken out to say she is far to shy to accept the offer, and will not be appearing in the magazine in the nude.
In the past the magazine has garnered big celebrities willing to bare all for its centrefold, including big names such as Drew Barrymore, LaToya Jackson, Kim Basinger, and Denise Richards. Friends of the X Factor winner said that no figure would be enough to lure Leona into posing nude in the magazine.
