Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber Victims of Extortion

Cindy Crawford and enterprenuer husband, Randy Gerber, fell victim to an extortion plot led by a German man. Edis Kayalar has not been apprehended yet as he was recently deported back to Germany. The 26-year old attempted to extort $100,000 from the couple in exchange for a controversial photo taken of the couple’s daughter.

The photo shows Kaia, their 7-year old daughter, bond and gagged sitting in a chair. The little girl told her parents that the photo was taken by her nanny earlier this year as part of a cops and robbers game. The photo was then obtained by Kayalar who attempted to use it to get money from the couple.

The nanny, who was let go a week before the photo surfaced, has not been charged in the extortion plot, as apparently, the photo was stolen from her by Kayalar. Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber were then contacted by the German man a week later, and he asked them for $100,000 in order to not leak the photo to the media.

Gerber is the owner of the famous Whiskey Blue Bar in the Fort Lauderdale W hot spot. According to Gerber, he paid Kayalar $1,000 for the picture, although according to police affidavits, the German then contacted the couple a second time asking for me. He claimed that he had made a copy of the photo and would leak it if not paid.

Edis Kayalar is currently in Germany as he was recently deported and so has not yet been arrested.
