The sad plight of many people from underdeveloped countries has increased in recent years. Food crises resulting in malnutrition, particularly in children and the elderly, has alarmingly increased and this plight has become a major concern for all peoples and countries across the globe.

Different NGOs have been formed to fight this hunger problem that has afflicted millions resulting in deaths; and a lot more people have become more active in the help to fight this word crisis.

Action Against Hunger is one such humanitarian organization that aims to fight, prevent and hopefully eliminate hunger in all of the underdeveloped countries.

How does Action Against Hunger fight poverty in these countries?

Action Against Hunger visits countries afflicted by the problems arising from lack of food including diseases and infantile deaths; particularly in war-torn areas and those that have been through natural disasters.

They provide not only feeding programs, but more importantly, programs to help people sustain themselves through livelihood projects and sometimes monetary assistance to help afflicted people start over with their lives.

Restoring the health of these people is the first step in giving them back their future and this is done by also providing them with clean drinking water; and educating them about sanitation and taking care of one’s health through personal hygiene.

How can I help?

You can help by doing volunteer work for the organization, making a donation or join the many events organized to raise funds. There are many other ways that you can help the organization through school projects, networking and partnerships.

The goal is to create more awareness for the advocacy of Action Against Hunger and influence more people to become involved any way they can. For more information on Action Against Hunger and how you can help, you may visit their website.
